CCH Receives 2014 NJ State Historic Preservation Award for Port Colden United Methodist Church


Port Colden United Methodist Church, an excellent example of 19th century carpenter gothic architecture, is the recipient of a 2014 New Jersey Historic Preservation Award. Each year, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Historic Preservation Office in cooperation with the New Jersey Historic Site Council recognizes individuals and organizations who have made important contributions to the State’s historic and archaeological resources. Clarke Caton Hintz was the architect for all phases the exterior restoration of the church, inclusive of the structural repairs to the bell tower, the bell restoration, the restoration of the exterior siding and accurate polychromatic painting campaign.

Awards will be bestowed at a ceremony on May 22, 2014 at the Prallsville Grist Mill Stockton, New Jersey.
