Planners (Entry/Junior and Senior/Associate Levels)
Clarke Caton Hintz is currently seeking planners with land use, affordable housing and/or redevelopment planning experience. Multiple positions are available to satisfy the firm’s growing work as planning consultants throughout New Jersey.
The spectrum of work includes a wide array of planning and design projects that range across all aspects of master planning, review of development proposals, affordable housing, sustainability and resiliency strategies and redevelopment. We are looking for candidates who are creative, innovative and forward looking, with strong writing skills, to support planning and design for the wide array of projects on behalf of our municipal and private clients.
All applicants should demonstrate strong organizational, communication and writing skills and be able to competently use Microsoft Office. Basic Adobe Creative Suite software skills and use of other graphic programs such as AutoCAD or Sketchup is a plus but not required.
Entry Level / Junior Planner
Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design or landscape architecture. A master’s degree in planning is a plus along with work experience associated with plan review, variance and site application preparation or environmental permitting.
Senior Planner / Associate
Candidates should have AICP and New Jersey PP license, a master’s level degree in planning or closely related field, and 5-10 years of advanced, professional planning experience. Must be adept at preparing and presenting technical reports to policy making committees and councils. This position leads major planning projects including but not limited to Housing Element and Fair Share Plans, Master Plans and Reexaminations, Redevelopment studies and plans with the support of junior planning staff.
