Job Summary

Clarke Caton Hintz seeks an Accounting Assistant to work alongside the Accounting Manager. Candidates must have experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processes. As well as their accounting duties, the Accountant Assistant will, at times, be responsible for other administration and human resources functions.


Accounts payable

– Data entry of invoices and employee reimbursable expenses.
– Processing of AP checks, consultant payments, and ACH employee reimbursable payments.
– Maintaining AP files & vendor files.
– Reconcile monthly credit card statements.

Accounts Receivable

– Review, edit, and process monthly billing reviews.
– Complete the monthly invoice process for the Planning Department.
– Follow up with clients on outstanding invoices.
– Resolve any account discrepancies.
– Maintain AR client files & records.


– Set up and maintain employee files in the accounting system.
– Approve timesheets and resolve any issues with paid time off and overtime.
– Data entry of any employee changes such as salary adjustments, benefit deductions.
– Process payroll by balancing out accounting software and payroll software service.

Other Administrative Duties

– Filing, scanning, etc.
– Phone backup (limited) for other administrative personnel.
– Other tasks to be assigned on an added needed basis.


– 3-5 years of experience (required)
– Microsoft Office Suite, Word & Excel being essential for day-to-day work (required)
– ADP Workforce Now (preferred)
– Unanet / Clearview A&E Accounting Software (preferred)
– Prior work in an architectural, engineering and/or planning office (preferred)
– Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
– Ability to work independently and effectively with all levels within an organization.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills.
– Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively within teams.

Salary range $47,000 – $57,000
