Absecon hires planner for affordable housing


ABSECON – The city has committed to spending up to $15,000 for the services of a planner who specializes in Mount Laurel-type planning services.

At its meeting Thursday, April 19, City Council directed Mayor Peter Elco and City Clerk Carie Crone to enter into a contract with Clarke Caton Hintz ofTrentonfor Philip B. Caton to work with Absecon Planning Board Planner Robert Reid to address the city’s affordable housing obligation.

“Mr. Caton will take the lead in the preparation of the city’s affordable housing planning activities,” City Administrator Terry Dolan said Wednesday, April 25. “Mr. Caton participated with the Mount Laurel subcommittee at its meeting Monday.”
