Clarke Caton Hintz was charged with the design of the landscape surrounding the newly constructed clubhouse and related structures. The program included a pro shop, grill room, bar, kitchen, multi-purpose room and a cart storage building. The landscape was designed in a manner that meshes with the functional program of the golf course while also fitting into the rural context. Complementing the clubhouses’ vehicular approach is landscaping that creates a powerful visual approach to the clubhouse and the course.
Pedestrian and golf cart routes convey golfers between the parking areas, clubhouse, practice fairway and other course elements. Native and ornamental plant material were employed to create strong spatial reinforcement of the vehicular and pedestrian spaces.
