Our approach to architectural design draws upon our creativity and our experience with a diversity of contexts and scales. Interpretation of the building context helps us to develop architecture that enhances its surroundings. Integration of sustainable practices into our design process facilitates the creation of enduring works.
We apply a broad knowledge of the environment, insights into regulation at all levels and a keen understanding of civic design principles to craft comprehensive land-use strategies. Our planning practice is widely recognized for assisting public and private clients to make informed land-use decisions for the constantly changing rural, suburban and urban communities in which we live.
Creativity and an understanding of the natural and built environment guide our design of landscapes that are inviting, inspiring and, often, restorative. Inter-disciplinary collaboration produces designs with meaningful relationships between sites, buildings and natural systems. Through this holistic approach, our designs exemplify sustainability, stewardship and contextualism.
Our projects include exterior and interior restorations of landmark structures, the adaptive reuse of a variety of building types, historically sensitive infill design and a full range of preservation planning services. We utilize the design ideas embodied in historic structures as a touchstone for their rehabilitation or restoration. In this way, the strength of the historic architecture is recaptured for new uses.
Through detailed space analysis CCH is able to create flexible and efficient concept plans. Working closely with our clients provide the ability to create both a dynamic space, as well as a refreshed public image. Care is taken to attend to every aspect of the design including lighting, finishes and furniture to ensure that the client’s intent is both met and exceeded.
