Built in 1927, Columbia High School, along with its collegiate gothic auditorium, is an elaborate jewel. Although the school district has been a responsible steward, the auditorium has extensive needs and had begun showing signs of age and wear.
Clarke Caton Hintz performed a feasibility study to accurately determine the exact needs and anticipated costs for the restoration. Work will include seat refurbishment, new finishes and general auditorium lighting. Highlighting the restoration will be the recreation of the original auditorium ceiling and chandeliers.
To assist with the fundraising/ capital campaign, our office prepared renderings of the proposed improvements and facilitated a sample chair restoration to aid the district’s “Take a Seat” adoption campaign.
