164th Street Garage

The 164th Street Garage is located directly adjacent to the new Yankee Stadium. The garage serves to screen the loading and service areas while providing the fourth main facade for the Stadium complex. In addition, the site is confined by an historic allee of trees along 164th street. The resulting design is a narrow garage housing 660 cars distributed over 5 levels.

The garage design is deliberately modern yet the white precast concrete and stainless steel mesh are akin to the neotraditional vocabulary of the stadium. Another unique design feature is the 12″ thick reinforced concrete wall along the Southern facade of the garage, which is designed to provide blast resistance from security threats within the parking facility.
