The Boathouse, located in Riverside County Park South, bridges the municipalities of Lyndhurst and North Arlington. Focused on the County’s objective of expanding public access to the river, the building provides a unique presence in the park and serves as a gateway for visiting rowers and regatta events.
Flood-proofing measures and strategically programmed spaces address lower-level flood exposure. The second floor is anchored by a 3,000 square foot team room and community multi-purpose space with a terrace overlooking the Passaic River. The room is flexible, allowing quick transformation from a fitness center with weight training and indoor rowing ergometers into a community focused multi-purpose space for meetings, presentations, performances and event ceremonies. The boat bays and multi-purpose space are supported by locker rooms, offices, lounge and restrooms. Attracting rowers throughout the tristate area, crews from NYU, Stevens Institute of Technology and Seton Hall University as well as the Passaic River Rowing Association, the building is a vibrant hub, responding to its riverside setting, hosting the community as well as seasonal regattas on the tidal waters of the Passaic River.

"The new boat house is a beautiful, useful addition to our (often forgotten) Riverside County Park. Something the young athletes from our area will get to enjoy and be proud of."
Daniel H. Pronti, Mayor - North Arlington
