Franklin L. Williams Middle School

The Franklin L. Williams Middle School is a 3 story structure accommodating 900 students. To provide the most conducive learning environment, the school is organized on a “house” concept where students have all their typical classes in a small cluster of rooms. This arrangement creates a small scale environment where students feel comfortable and they are easily supervised. Community access can be provided to the gym, auditorium, cafeteria and multi-media center without opening up the classroom wings.

The building is both a wonderful learning environment and a highly energy efficient structure. Windows, walls and the roof all have high insulation factors which reduce energy consumption. The air conditioning and ventilation system has state-of-the-art controls which reduce power consumption and the overall project meets LEED certification requirements.
