In continuing with upgrades to Princeton University’s athletic facilities, Clarke Caton Hintz was retained by the University to provide new dugouts. The project consisted of the complete removal of existing dugouts and the design of two dugouts, each containing a storage room at each end.
Complimenting the similar aesthetic and material approaches for other athletic facilities on the campus, the new dugouts utilize heavy timber framing for structure, ground face block for exterior walls, standing seam metal for roof and vertical cedar siding for exterior facades to provide a complete and compelling palette. All work was performed to comply with NCAA standards and address ongoing accessibility concerns.
